3 Things That Actually Help Boost My Energy in the Mornings

More and more I’m starting to realize that my morning routine sets the tone for the ENTIRE day. This is especially true when it comes to keeping my energy levels high because let’s be honest, no one has time for a 2pm slump!!

I’ve figured out a few key things that I absolutely need to do each morning to have sustained energy throughout the day. Try these out and let me know how they work for you!!

💧Drink 2 glasses of water💧

Yes, even before my coffee. This is super important because the caffeine in coffee is very dehydrating. Making sure you’re hydrating yourself first will (literally) save you from a major headache later on. I drink my first glass of water hot with a slice of lemon warm water with lemon is a very cleansing and detoxifying. I also add some Pink Himalayan salt to my water throughout the day for added hydration! On an average day, I strive to drink half of my body weight in water. So if you weigh 150 lbs, you would aim for 75 ounces of water per day.

🌟Incorporate supplements🌟

Supplements and specific vitamins have been a GAME CHANGER for me. I take vitamin D and a B Complex every morning. Vitamin D is a great way to support your immune system and most of us are lacking this vitamin (you can also have your doctor check your levels). B Complex is great for energy support. I also like to throw some of favorite adaptogens into a smoothie for some extra antioxidants. Check out our supplements blog!

🌱Eat a plant-based protein source🌱

I used to always skip breakfast but by the time lunch came around, I was famished. By eating a plant-based protein source in the morning, I’m able to curb my hunger and make it til lunch without snacking on empty calories. I also choose plant-based protein because it’s easier to digest and doesn’t make me feel bloated. It fills me up and doesn’t feel like I have something heavy sitting in my stomach.
